I believe, in general, in following Christian principles, but not blindly, as I do have a mind of my own and by having it, I wish to use it.
In the world today, all religious leaders are in some ways following the teaching of their religion, but it is their interpretation of these ways that they follow.
In all religions, the books to which they refer, were all written many, many years before they were born and in some there have been many translations.
Also, as with The Bible' this was not written at the time of the supposed events happening and when written, not by the persons in whose name it is held.
In the 'New Testament' it is supposed to be the accounts of certain of the 'Disciples', who in the main would have been uneducated, thereby could not, or have very limited reading and writing ability. So not only was it not written in their lifetime, there was no written proof of any of the happenings.
A lot is said about, marriage, gay marriage, the role of women in the Church, but what many in the religious community fail or do not wish to take into account, are that times change and so does to some extent the culture of Society. To not change, could mean that you 'fall by the way side'.
Many cultures, to this day, do not have a very high opinion of women and this in some instances stems from their religious beliefs and teachings. For instance, take the current situation in India and the rape and subsequent death of an innocent woman going about her daily life.
Can, in this instance, it be right that the non-ability to change the culture of the Indian Society, has led to happenings of nature to be, to some extent, common.
Not all change is for the better, but to not consider change, could go some way to cause a breakdown in Society and Law and Order.
Do not follow blindly, you have a mind of your own, please use it. They do say if you do not use something, then it could become extinct or diminished through lack of use.
