One thing is certain, the way the EU has progressed is not good for the UK. The original referendum was for a single market and no UK Government since then has had a mandate to progress further, certainly not for political and monetary union. All Europhiles will argue that to include EU changes in a General Election manifesto is sufficient , I say it is not. There are many reasons people will vote one way or another, explicit points in a manifesto can not be assumed to be required by a yes vote. For one, are we electing a person or a party. You are advised you are voting for your MP and when it suits this is the case, when it does not you are said to be voting for a party. We should decide which one it is.
Re EU we should renegoiate our terms, where possible and then have a vote whether to be in or out on the new terms. If renegoiate not possible then a straight in or out.
Cameron will offer voters in-out referendum over EU membership, says Boris
